TENSES

MEANING AND KIND OF TENSES


1.Present  Tenses
-Simple Present Tenses
These tenses are used to indicate the activities carried outrepeatedly, or habit.
The formula :
S + Verb 1
Example :
-          A tiger hunts deer everyday
-          I drinks coffee
-          We eat everyday

-          You broke my heart


-Present Continuous Tenses
These tenses are used to indicate the current ongoing activities orwhile talking.
the formula:
S + be 1 + verb-ing
Example :
-          A tiger is has hunting deer now
-          I am writing now
-          You are reading my article
-          She is waiting for you

-Present Perfect Tenses
Tenses are used to denote an activity that has been done but stillhave something to do with the present

The formulas :
S + has/have + verb 3
Example :
-          A tiger has hunted deer for a hours
-          She has gone
-          I have written English lesson for 30 minutes
-          You have read my messages since 2 pm


-Present Perfect Continuous Tenses
Tenses are used to denote activities that have been started andlasted until now

The formulas  :
S + has/have + been + verb-ing
Example :
-          A tiger has been hunting deer for a hours
-          You’ve been a very bad girl
-          I’ve been learning English for 3 years She has been going crazy


2.Past Tenses


-Simple Past Tenses
Tenses are used to denote activities undertaken in the past.

The formulas  :
S + Verb 2
Example :
-          A tiger hunted deer yesterday
-          I launched this blog on august 2008
-          I saw this car last month
-          She went home two minutes ago

-Past Continuous Tenses
This tense is used to declare an event that is happening in the past
The formulas :
S + be 2 + verb-ing
Example :
-          A tiger was hunting deer last night
-          She was die
-          I was writing
-          They were surfing

-Past Perfect Tenses
Tenses are used to denote activities that have been completed in the past before another activity occurs.

the formulas : 
S + had + verb 3
Example :
-          A tiger had hunted deer last night
-          I had gone when he arrived at my home
-          I had studied hard but didn’t make good result in exam
-          You had not told me, so I didn’t understand

-Past Perfect Continuous Tenses
These tenses are used in the past events have been and are being continued for a period of time when other events occur.

The formulas :
S + had been + verb-ing
Example  :
-          A tiger had been hunting deer for a hours
-          They had not been playing football
-          She had been dancing
Dimas had been falling in love
3.Future Tenses

-Simple Future Tenses
These tenses are used to show activity in the future.

The formulas :
S + will + verb 1
Example :
-          A tiger will hunt deer tomorrow
-          She will go to the market
-          I will fly
-          They will sleep


-Future Continuous Tenses
Tenses are used to denote the activity and progress will come

The formulas : 
S + will be + verb-ing
Example :
-          A tiger will be hunting deer tomorrow
-          I will be playing football at 9 o’clock
-          You will not be working
-          She will be long

-Future Perfect Tenses
This tense is used to declare an act or an event that has beencompleted or will have completed happen at some point in time willcome

The formula :
S + will + have + verb 3
Example :
-          A tiger will have hunted deer by tomorrow
-          She will not have strength immune system
-          They will have driven go to home
-          She will have learned music


Future Perfect Continuous Tenses
This tense is used to declare an act or event which would have been being done or happening at some point in the future

The formula :
S + will + have + been + verb-ing
Example :
-          A tiger will have been hunting deer for a hours by afternoon
-          You will have been driving
-          She will have been going to book store
-          Jesica will have been dancing for 3o minutes



4.Past Future tenses

Past Future Tenses


This tense is used to declare an act that has been planned at some point in the past but not implemented, probably because of an obstruction or something else.
The formula :
S + would + verb 1
Example :
-          A tiger would hunt deer the next day
-          I would go at 9 pm when he’s came to my house yesterday
-          I should be pick up when you arrived at the station tomorrow
-          He should be in bandung next month
-Past future continuous tense :
This tense is used to declare an act to be doing at certain times in the past, but for some reason other then the act was not so.

The formula :
S + would + be + verb-ing
Example :
-          A tiger would be hunting deer next week
-          My brother would be finishing thesis last week
-          When the postman came she would be taking a bath
-          He would be having lunch when I asked him for help

Past Future Perfect Tenses
This tense is used to declare an act or an event that has beencompleted or will have completed happen at some point in time willcome.

The formula  :
S + would + have + been + verb 3
Example :
-          A tiger would have been hunted deer by next week
-          I would have been swum at 11 yesterday
-          She would have been ate at 9 o’clock
-           
Past Future Perfect Continuous Tenses
This tense is used to declare an act or an event that would have been and are being done or happened in the past, and now the act or event has been completed.

The formula : 
S + would + have + been verb-ing
Example :
-          A tiger have been hunting deer by the end of this month
-          I would have been dancing for 1 hour
-          I would have been living in Jakarta for 3 years 
-      i would have been working on leading companis on 5 years
